Dr. Samip Baruah is an accomplished academic and industry professional with over 27 years of rich, diverse, and multi-functional experience across leading Indian FMCG organizations such as ITC Limited, AMUL, LINC Limited, NIPPO Consumer Products, and the Goyal Group of Companies.
He has played a pivotal role in building world-class systems and processes across domains such as Traditional & Digital Marketing, AI-assisted Sales, Geo-tagged Distribution, International Sales, Omni-channel (Organized Retail) Supply & Logistics, and SAP & IT Systems.
In his illustrious corporate journey, Dr. Baruah has served as Vice President & Head of Sales at Indo National Limited (NIPPO), managing a ₹475-crore business with a 750-member national sales team. He also held the position of National Sales Manager – Head of Supply Chain & International Sales at ITC Limited.
A key highlight of his career includes leading ITC’s entry into the Foods FMCG business in 2003 across Assam and the North East, spearheading successful launches of major brands such as Aashirvaad Atta, MINTO and Candyman Confectionery, Bingo! Tedhe Medhe, Sunfeast Bounce, Fiama Di Wills, Mangaldeep Agarbatti, and Classmate Stationery. He was also instrumental in the successful launch of AMUL TAAZA in the North East region.
Dr. Baruah’s strong industry insights and strategic expertise enable him to effectively bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice, offering students a comprehensive understanding of real-world business dynamics.
He has also been a Guest Faculty at reputed institutes, authored a book on Supply Chain Management, and is a regular speaker at national industry forums, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and other prestigious universities and organizations.
