A session organized by Army Institute of Management Kolkata and was delivered by Mr.Ranjan Sinha on 30 August, 2019 which he opened by asserting his belief “it’s 100% definite an MBA degree will move forward your career”. While interacting with the students of MBA 23 batch he discussed in detail the various career options available in different fields of specialization and the job profiles to explore. He went forth in discussing what to expect in a job interview and the various trick questions asked by the recruiters and gave valuable advice on how to tackle them smartly ensuring a positive outcome. The knowledge he divulged today will definitely help everyone be better prepared for the future.
The institute marked its presence at 6th Family Business Conference 19 – “Longevity of family Business: Choosing the path” which was organized by CII in collaboration with FBN. In the session students were provided with the opportunity to interact with the leading industrialists and family business owners. The issue discussed was related to the failure of family business succession till it reaches 3rd generation and the possible optimum strategy to deal with it. The future entrepreneurs and the management degree holders discussed and devised the solutions to deal with different problems that occur in any family business.
HR Meet has been organized at Ordnance Club on 29 Aug 19 with Mr. Soumesh Dasgupta,Group President, India Power, Mr. Rahul Bose, Global Manager Learning and Knowledge, IBM Global, Mr. P.K. Sahu, Sr. General Manager(HRM & Safety), TSPDL with Maj Gen AK Sapra, VSM (Retd),Director AIMK, Placement officer, Registrar and few students.
A workshop by Gillette was organised in Army Institute of Management Kolkata on Grooming and Personality development on 24 August, 2019 with motive of to help the students to gain knowledge on “How to develop a smart and confident personality” Mr. Somnath Ghosh, Sir told the students of MBA-23 about the facts and challenges for the job interviews in corporate world. He also told about the rule A.B.C, (Appearance, Body language, Communication Tips) and also showed us a video of how to shave properly and groom ourselves for an event. Nikhil Joshi and Ayushi Rai was selected as best groom of class by Mr. Somnath Ghosh Sir, and at the end few boys proceed to the shaving booth for their free shave, and whole batch to collect certificate of participation and Gillette Guard kit.
Lieutenant Navdeep Singh Bains , A brave hero who attained martyrdom on 20th august 2011.Like every year, this year also the whole Army Institute of management, kolkata paid tribute to him and remembered him by offering garland of flowers and also had two minutes of silence in his memory. Lieutenant Navdeep Singh Bains displayed his indomitable spirit, determination and exceptional bravery while putting down the terrorist and making the supreme sacrifice for the nation. He was awarded with the Ashoka Chakra posthumously on the 63rd Republic Day by President of India.The observance was come to an end by lighting candles to pay homage to the martyr. Lieutenant Navdeep Singh Bains sir was part of Army Institute of Management,kolkata family and we are proud of his bravery and heroic deed. He will always be alive in our memories.

In the 73rd year of independence AIMK celebrated the day at campus with great enthusiasm. Saffron, white and green are the colors which every indian wear with pride and so does the AIMK students on the day.
The day started with flag hoisting by Director, Major General A K Sapra,VSM(Retd) and Registrar & Head of Administrator, Col Sushen Chakraborty (Retd)
followed by series of activities like group patriotic song, dance and skit by the students.
The institute celebrated the 22nd Foundation Day. The day was filled with enthusiasm and joy. Not only did the course of MBA-23 batch officially commenced, but it also marked the first day of the new director Major General Arun Kumar Sapra, Vishist Seva Medal (Retd.). The celebration started with auspicious way of lamp lighting by the director and addressing the students as the functions started off. The talk on importance of the need to develop proper communication skills and the right work ethic was delivered to the students. During the refreshment after the event got finished the director personally interacted with the students and tried to understand their view about the changes that they think are necessary for their development.

Post lunch, the students gathered where the MBA 23 batch put up an extravagant show showcasing their talents through classical dance, skit, Bhangra and singing.

A guest lecture on “WWE Own:The water waste energy owners” was delivered by honorable guest “Dr.Salil K Sen” on 31st July 2019 for MBA 23 batch. He holds a PHD , MBA , B.E in mechanical and is a professor at NIDA business school. He actively conducts workshops on sustainability management school, based out of Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs the living lab which specifically works on sustainability development in an Eco system. Well versed lecture was delivered by him to the students explaining the three facts “what has been, what is it now and what it will be in the future” . Tons of examples were given related to ground water harvesting and concept of urbanization aligned with smart cities and green advertising. The session contained fun activity which involved each student present in hall and the lecture was finally concluded with awarding the winners of the sustainable development management program.
The students of MBA batch 23 had an opportunity to interact with the members of CDA Global Language Centre, where they were told about the significance of studying a foreign language before stepping into the corporate world. They were briefed about the difference between general MBA and a MBA with a foreign language. They were told about the type of companies which prefer a MBA with foreign language over a regular MBA. CDA briefed the students about the Indian companies that might have foreign clients and foreign companies that work in India and how having a foreign language in their résumé will give them an edge. The students were then explained separately about the language specific merits of German, French and Spanish.
Is MBA required to be an entrepreneur? Is still being debated. In the meanwhile The MBA 23 batch got an opportunity to talk on Entrepreneurship and interact with one of the leading women entrepreneur Mrs Meghna Lala, the CEO of UNIVTRACK India. She has over 10 years of experience in working in the corporate sector for the field of strategy and business development. Apart from that she has been actively involved in working with some prestigious multinational organisations such as United Nations Development Program, Department of International Development, World Bank and Niti Ayog.
She educated the students about the trends, statics and the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. She deciphered entrepreneurship for our students by illustrating the types of entrepreneurship and what are the characteristics that set an entrepreneur apart from the rest of the crowd.
She also helped in clearing the inquisition that was on the young minds. Meanwhile she also briefed about the intricacies of her start-up. The session turned out to be a highly interactive as our students were extremely moved by the insights from the world of entrepreneurship.
