Students had a great learning experience attending a talk on From Asia-Pacific to Indo-Pacific: India’s Maritime Reawakening organised by the Navy Foundation Kolkata Chapter at Fort William along with Director Maj Gen.V.S.Ranade and Dr. Debaleena Chatterjee.

Silver Jubilee Celebration || 19 Sept 2022

19th September 2022 marked the day for the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata. Graced by the presence of dignitaries from various sectors of the Nation, the program started with the auspicious lighting of the lamp of founding with a grand show of unity and diversity showcasing the different dance forms of India. The extravaganza was preceded by the welcome speech by Director, Maj Gen VS Ranade (Retd) and a narration of AIMK history by Dr. Malini Mazumdar, Academic Coordinator. Mr. Abraham G Stephanos, Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited shared his experience in the Industry and an inspiring speech by the GOC in C of Eastern Command Lt Gen RP Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM. The event was attended by dignitaries from the Army, Corporates, Alumni, and Ex Faculty members.

The show was conceptualized and choreographed by the students of the Institute. Followed by an audio-visual presentation that encompassed the essence of a journey, of 25 glorious years for this esteemed Institution. Amongst the applause for the movie commenced the final act – a cultural manifest that captures the quintessence of the aura this institution holds. The cultural show took its audience on a spellbound trip to all the zones starting from the East and going clockwise to the North of India. Folk and Classical dance forms like Bihu, Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Garbha, Bhangra, and many more depicted the privilege of the rich diversity this institute witnesses every year. A confluence of all these cultural dances along with a melodious song sung by the students, closed the curtains on a show that enamored its viewers.

War of Words

The Student Council arranged a second round of debate “War of Words” on September 10th, 2022. The event was graced by the honorable Director Major General V.S.Ranade (Retd.), Professor J.N.Mukhoapdhyay, Student Affairs Coordinator Dr. Debaleena Chatterjee, Asst. Professor Abhilash Acharya as Judges.

Thought provoking and mind boggling topics on beauty pageants, gender-specific rules in temples, privacy issues, Artificial Intelligence. The topic that evoked the most reaction was “Are men the silent sufferers?”

World Environment Day Celebration

Director Maj Gen VS Ranade (Retd.), Registrar Col. MK Verma (Retd.) and Girls’ Warden Maj. Tukun Kansabanik planted saplings on the occasion of ‘Tree plantation and Swach Abhiyan’ organized by the ISR team of MBA 25 batch to celebrate ‘World Environment Day’ instilling the spirit of a greener, cleaner and a sustainably futuristic campus.

 

Food Truck Festival

The Food Truck Festival organized by the NKDA (New Town Kolkata Development Authority) bore witness to the zestful performance of AIMK students’ band Prahaar. The final day of this 3-day carnival hosted a Musical Gala, where student bands from various colleges participated.

 

Investiture Ceremony

New Council members Oath Ceremony was organized at Army Institute of Management, Kolkata. With positions come responsibilities. As MBA-24 passed on their positions to MBA-25, took the oath to solemnly carry forward their duties as new student council members and become a strong bridge between students and Management.

 

Farewell: MBA 24

A gala event comprising the cultural show, sports event, and Jam Session was conducted to mark the farewell of passing out batch MBA24. AIMK wishes the passing out batch all success.

ISR Event 2022

Our issues are so insignificant compared to the daily trials and tribulations life throws at differently abled children. Student Affairs ISR cell organised a sensitisation workshop and day out with Asha school children. Our students had a humbling experience of stepping out of their individual bubbles.

 

Bazzare 2022

With everyone coming out of a long and tiring pandemic break AIM-K announced its much awaited annual fiesta event- BAZZARE dated 26 March 2022 organized at the recently inaugurated campus. Under the guidance of Director sir, this event not only entertained the attendees but also gave first hand experience to the participants and organizers in the field of Marketing and Financial Management. Participating students set up their food and games stalls like chai pakora point and hoola hoop, applying various marketing techniques to attract the crowd while the organizers learn the art to engage and manage a diverse crowd of people. Garnished with music and dance this fiesta honed the financial skills as well as gave the students a practical lesson of entrepreneurship.

 

Chakravyuh Inter College Sports

Chakravyuh inter college sports event was held on 11th – 13th March 2022 organised by Army Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Our college organised Basketball tournament at AIMK Basketball court and Football league at NKDA Stadium, Rajarhat.We invited St. Xaviers University, Maulana Azad College, Budge Budge Institute of Technology, Surendranath College, Bhawanipur College to partcipate for this event. Winner of Basketball tournament is Bhawanipur College A and Runner up is St. Xaviers University. Similarly Winner of Football League is St. Xaviers University and Runner up is Army Institute of Management.
