Army Institute of Management invited Dipankar Banerjee to give students some industry brief on Emotional Intelligence, with over 35 years of expertise in Management Development and HR across diverse industries such as FMCG, consumer durables, heavy engineering, petroleum products, advertising and media, Dipankar Banerjee transitioned into a role as a full-time consultant and executive coach. Before this, he served as the Vice President of Human Resources at the ABP Group, overseeing renowned brands like Star News, BusinessWorld, The Telegraph, Anandabazar Patrika, and other prominent publications and television channels.

EAD 2023 – Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive 2023 was organised on 11/10/23 by Bhawanipur Education Society in collaboration with NSHM Knowledge Campus and E-Cell IIT Kharagpur. His expertise illuminated our understanding of Driving digital transformation, leaving us inspired and informed.
Sir talked about transformation of media into digital media, how to approach digital transformation, the challenges media and business world faced and how to deal with them. The insights of the session are as follows, Digital transformation in media involves adopting cutting-edge technologies to create, distribute, and monetize content efficiently. This includes embracing digital platforms, streaming services, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to enhance content personalization, recommendation engines, and audience engagement.
Furthermore, media organizations must prioritize a multi-channel approach to reach audiences across various devices and platforms. Mobile apps, social media, and online streaming services have become integral to content distribution. Data-driven insights are invaluable in understanding audience behaviour and preferences, helping media companies refine their content strategies. Leveraging big data analytics can optimize content creation, distribution, and marketing efforts, leading to better monetization opportunities. On the 15th of August, 2023, the Army Institute of Management Kolkata reverberated with exultant celebrations in honor of India’s Independence Day. The campus was transformed into a tapestry of patriotism, adorned with vibrant tricolor decorations that echoed the nation’s diversity. The day commenced with a poignant flag hoisting ceremony, an emblematic gesture embodying the essence of freedom. United in purpose, the institution’s faculty, staff, and students congregated to pay heartfelt homage to the gallant freedom fighters, rekindling the flame of nationalistic zeal. Amidst spirited cultural performances and eloquent speeches, a poignant tribute was rendered to the indomitable armed forces, underscoring their selfless dedication. This day encapsulated a mosaic of reflection, gratitude, and a resolute recommitment to India’s cherished ideals.
On July 28th, AIMK celebrated its momentous Foundation Day with enthusiasm and pride. The event brought the entire institute together to mark this significant milestone, reflecting on the journey from inception to the present.During the event, a video was played that brought back memories of the old campus and the newer one. The faculty and non-faculty members spoke, reminiscing about the college’s founders Col S Rath, Col A Nagi, Col B Chakraborty and Dr. Anindra Kumar Haldar and their vision, which continues to inspire the institute. A significant topic of discussion was the challenging transition from the old campus to the new one amid the COVID pandemic. This marked a momentous occasion for AIMK, representing progress despite the challenges. One of the highlights of the celebration was a spectacular performance presented by our esteemed non faculty.
The presence of esteemed alumni like Soma Mal Banarjee, batch 1, a successful co-founder and CEO of Business Brio, added a touch of pride and inspiration to the occasion. She addressed students and shared her experiences about the evolution of the current AIMK campus. Retd Col MKR Varma, Registrar addressed the students by mentioning the faculty and non faculty members, being the backbone of AIMK’s academic excellence, radiated excitement and joy as they fondly recollected their own experiences at the institute.
During the event, Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Principal emphasized on AIMK’s excellence and the significance of the courses MCA along with MBA offered in the past. He encouraged students to reflect on how the institute, located within a hospital for more than 20 years, would retain that essence and build upon it to showcase its commitment to holistic education and opportunities. Army Institute of Management Kolkata, observed Kargil Vijay Diwas by honoring and saluting the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation during the Kargil War. They also paid a special tribute to Lieutenant Navdeep Singh Bains, an alumnus of the college from the MBA batch 11 who courageously served in the armed forces and made the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict. Kargil Vijay Diwas is a day of national pride and remembrance, serving as a reminder of the valor and selflessness displayed by our armed forces in protecting the nation.
The orientation day at AIMK for the MBA batch 27 was meticulously planned in welcoming and acquainting the new students with the institution. The day commenced on 17th July, with a sense of anticipation and excitement among the fresh batch of MBA students, the aim of the orientation program was not just to provide a holistic understanding of their academic journey at AIMK.
Maj Gen VS Ranade, the esteemed director of the college, warmly welcomed the students and delivered an inspiring speech, setting the tone for the day.
Retd Col MKR Varma, the Registrar of the college, followed with a presentation that delved into the college’s administrative aspects. He elucidated the rules and regulations, ensuring that the students were well-informed about the code of conduct.

Every year, on June 21st, people worldwide come together to commemorate International Yoga Day. This special occasion serves as a reminder of the deep advantages that yoga imparts to our lives, encompassing both physical and mental well-being. Yoga extends beyond mere physical exercise and encompasses a comprehensive discipline that combines asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and ethical principles. It is a practice that unifies the mind, body, and spirit, fostering self-awareness, stress reduction, and inner tranquility.
Princi from MBA-26 organized a yoga session for MBA-26, where she instructed us in several asanas, pranayamas, and concluded with meditation. The asanas included Sukh asana, Tada asana, Vriksha asana, Sarvang asana, Sav asana, Gomukh asana, and Trikon asana. The pranayamas consisted of Arunom vilom pranayama, Bhramri pranayama, Kapalbhati Pranayama, and Sheetli Pranayama.

Mobile marketing is a marketing strategy that specifically takes advantage of mobile channels like SMS & MMS messaging, mobile apps, messaging apps, and mobile-optimized browser sites to reach the target customers. Batch 25 got the privilege to meet Mr. Dipak H Agarwal CEO and founder of Onex Solution Private Limited. We had a very exciting and wonderful conversation on consumer behavior for Mobile Marketing. He covered various interesting topics and related them to real-life examples and case studies.
A very deep conversation had taken place on a proactive approach. After the pandemic, the customer buying behaviour is changed and now it’s more online – from buying food to home appliances. He also covered the marketing strategy and discussed the various tagline that needs to be used, for example why and how BMW’s tagline impacted the Indian market and how it got failed. He emphasized on business in a basic format like what are the aspects from where we can collect the data for the advertising and to target the right customer.
A nice interactive conversation was going on related to marketing research and why it is important in launching of any new product in the market. Students came to know that 2 to 3% of revenue is generally reserved for research work, understanding the customer and knowing what and how needs to be done and need to be created. The other interesting topic being covered was visual merchandising, test drive, segregated market, cloud kitchen, and dark stores.
Mr. Agarwal also discussed how the data is used by big firms to target the right customer and how it is a part of digital marketing. The lecture was very interesting and all the students were very enthusiastic in knowing about mobile marketing. We are very fortunate to have such a great personality with us.
