In today's fast paced world , anxiety and uncertainty takes a heavy toll on our physical and mental health. There needs to be a structured regime to address these issues for all and specially for the youth of our country. In the ongoing 'Azadi ka Mahotsav' celebration, Army Institute of Management, Kolkata collaborated Heartfullness Institute Inc., United States. As an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, a 3-day 'Yog Shivir' was organised by Heartfullness Institute at AIMK. The 3 day was focused on:
- Day 1: Yoga for Mental Health Part1
- Day 2: Yoga for Mental Health Part2
- Day 3: Yoga for De Addiction / Weight care
AIMK is thankful for this life changing and energizing concept and we hope to continue in future in regular and structured manner.
“Interpreting the spirit of Calcutta for New Town” – Session with Mr. Debashish Sen (retd.), Chairman NKDA and MD HIDCO
On March 16th, 2023, the Army Institute of Management Kolkata invited Mr. Debashish Sen (retd.), Chairman NKDA and MD HIDCO, to a conversation on “Interpreting the spirit of Calcutta for New Town”. It was moderated by Dr. Sunandan Roy Chowdhury, the Chief Editor of Eastern Review. The event was also attended by the renowned artist Suvoprasanna and Mr Dhiman Das of K C Das. Debashis Sen mentioned several initiatives that have gone into making new town an inclusive city in the widest possible sense of the term such as spaces for senior citizens, creche for lower income groups, dedicated space for street food and a real tram car stationed at mother's wax museum. He also elaborated on the role of youth who make any city vibrant. A large number of audience who had gathered for the event appreciated the role of Debashis Sen as the chief mind behind the fact that New Town has not cut its umbilical chord with Calcutta. Many suggestions were also given to the Chairman NKDA and he promised to take all of them forward.

Goddess Saraswati is the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom and learning.With the thought of organizing Saraswati Puja, enthusiasm gets infused among the students.Mata Saraswati is worshiped on this day. Red gulal is offered at his feet and diyas are also lit nearby.Saraswati Puja marks the beginning of the Vasant Utsav.
Republic Day Celebration, 2023
India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 annually with a lot of pride and fervor '26 January 1950', almost 3 years post-independence, we became a sovereign, secular, socialist, democratic republic.No matter the challenges and hardships, our constitutional committee left no stone unturned to include rights for all.The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata celebrates Republic Day with flag hoisting and cultural performances.
Asia-Pacific to Indo-Pacific: India's Maritime Reawakening organised by the Navy Foundation, Kolkata Chapter
Students had a great learning experience attending a talk on From Asia-Pacific to Indo-Pacific: India's Maritime Reawakening organised by the Navy Foundation Kolkata Chapter at Fort William along with Director Maj Gen.V.S.Ranade and Dr. Debaleena Chatterjee.

Silver Jubilee Celebration || 19 Sept 2022
19th September 2022 marked the day for the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata. Graced by the presence of dignitaries from various sectors of the Nation, the program started with the auspicious lighting of the lamp of founding with a grand show of unity and diversity showcasing the different dance forms of India. The extravaganza was preceded by the welcome speech by Director, Maj Gen VS Ranade (Retd) and a narration of AIMK history by Dr. Malini Mazumdar, Academic Coordinator. Mr. Abraham G Stephanos, Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited shared his experience in the Industry and an inspiring speech by the GOC in C of Eastern Command Lt Gen RP Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM. The event was attended by dignitaries from the Army, Corporates, Alumni, and Ex Faculty members.
The show was conceptualized and choreographed by the students of the Institute. Followed by an audio-visual presentation that encompassed the essence of a journey, of 25 glorious years for this esteemed Institution. Amongst the applause for the movie commenced the final act - a cultural manifest that captures the quintessence of the aura this institution holds. The cultural show took its audience on a spellbound trip to all the zones starting from the East and going clockwise to the North of India. Folk and Classical dance forms like Bihu, Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Garbha, Bhangra, and many more depicted the privilege of the rich diversity this institute witnesses every year. A confluence of all these cultural dances along with a melodious song sung by the students, closed the curtains on a show that enamored its viewers.
War of Words
The Student Council arranged a second round of debate "War of Words” on September 10th, 2022. The event was graced by the honorable Director Major General V.S.Ranade (Retd.), Professor J.N.Mukhoapdhyay, Student Affairs Coordinator Dr. Debaleena Chatterjee, Asst. Professor Abhilash Acharya as Judges.
Thought provoking and mind boggling topics on beauty pageants, gender-specific rules in temples, privacy issues, Artificial Intelligence. The topic that evoked the most reaction was "Are men the silent sufferers?"
